Aletheia - An International Yearbook of Philosophy

The IAP publishes a yearbook in philosophy (the first three appearing in the University of Dallas Press, Volume IV onwards at Peter Lang publishing house, Bern). The yearbooks are now partly available in electronic form on this page.

The Dietrich von Hildebrand Archive

``Without this great philosopher, who was also an outstanding person, ... there would not be an International Academy of Philosophy".  Dietrich von Hildebrand is one of the most significant thinkers in the movement of Phenomenological Realism and an intellectual father of the IAP.  His teacher Edmund Husserl, describes his achievement in the following way: ``His work manifests a rare talent for drawing out deep phenomenological intuitions and for analyzing penetratingly what is seen and fixing it with the strictest of methods".
The International Academy of Philosophy is currently working on Dietrich von Hildebrand´s Nachlaß (literary estate) and also distributes his collected works (in German).

Giovanni Reale, Leiter des Internationalen Instituts für die Erforschung der Philosophie Platons an der IAP, hat einen Bildband über Rafaels Freskenmalerei ``Die Schule Athens" (It. Orig.: Raffaello: La `Scuola di Atene') herausgegeben. Reale versucht hier eine neue Interpretation dieses so beteudungsvollen Bildes darzulegen. Der Bildband ist derzeit nur auf Italienisch erhältlich; eine Übersetzung ins Deutsche ist in Vorbereitung.
